Many of us dreamt of becoming content creator, and yes it's fine too, because if you have social media account and you are active there on daily basis, then you should post there too, either select a specific niche as per your taste and capabilities or do mixed posting as per trend and your feelings.
In whatever case, you must take care of these small mistakes.
1. Posting Copy Paste Content
Posting unoriginal content is okay, but you won't called as content creator because you don't own them. Don't count likes and views on such content, because it's not because of your efforts. I know many accounts who doesn't own content
2. Understanding Engagement
Engagement doesn't mean the numbers and reach data available in dashboard. It means the quality and ability of your content to attract and retain viewers.
Always make engaging content, as viewers are so patiencelss that we have to write wait till end to retain viewers.
Starting of your reel/video should be so engaging that people atleast watch 50% of it before scrolling to another reel.
Focus on engagement, views, watch time, audience retention, click through rates instead of subscribers and followers.
3. Asking for subscribe and folllow in whatsapp groups and status/story.
Views is more important than subscribers and followers. These days one of my school classmate asking everyone in WhatsApp group to subscribe his YouTube channel. Yes we subscribed, but i bet nobody is watching a single video of him. Because he just uploading effortless content, neither video quality, sound, fonts, texts, everything is below par.
And i also know someone making shorts only, and his 17th short went viral, get 50lakhs views and he gained 50k subscribers from only 1 short video.
The point is ki if you are a small or beginner creator, do focus on quality of video, consistency of posting, engaging viewers instead of begging people to subscribe in different whatsapp groups.
Someone genuinely replying: bhai mehnat lagta h youtube chalane me..
Kaisa mehnat? You are wandering from one whatsapp group to another for subscribe and like your 1 video, this is not mehnat! Put that time and effort in video, and see the difference in a couple of months!
4. Don't learn from own mistakes
Your focus always should be like my next video will be more better than previous one.
Always ask this question from yourself: Why someone watch my content??
If you are teaching on YouTube, ask yourself ki why someone watch my video? There are many teachers teaching same topic!
If you are singer, ask yourself ki why someone watch my video, there are many singers making reels on same song!
But yes, people will watch your too, you only have to make value content, engage viewers. Watch others video having good views, minutely observe everything, like how he edited, camera angle, duration, speed wherever required like in art video.
5. Uploading less quality videos
Always shoot, edit and upload high quality HD videos, because now viewers have unlimited internet packs, and Instagram full of reels from iphones. So making blurred 3gp like videos is no option at all.
6. Giving Time on Title,Captions, Hastags & Discription writing.
Youtubers will teach you to add big description, trending hastags to your video, but in my opinion these things doesn't matter. Social media algorithm is that there is no fixed algorithm. Everything is random. Its youtube and Instagram which itself decides that which video they will circulate in large masses. I have seen many videos having no tags and description, irrelevant titles too, still circulating even after 1-2 years.
See if you put trending hastags which are irrelevant to the niche of your content, it's not useful. Another opinion is: nobody searches hastags on YouTube or Instagram. We only search title, and we also gets search result having similar titles. So write best title that suits your video. Not spent much time on generating hastags and writing description.
7. Ignoring First Impressions
Thumbnail should be attractive. Either start to the point from beginning or do good humour in first 30-50 seconds so that viewers engage in it.
Attracting new viewers and retaining existing ones both are important. Because first impression is best and long lasting.
8. Avoid deleting content.
Yes everyone starts from scratch, improving content quality doesn't mean that you delete old videos which lacks proper editing and quality or which generated less views. Any video can be boosted any time, so you need not to delete old videos.
9. Lacking original content
Your content should be original, well recorded and engaging. Voice and camera quality should be good. Some examples like:
Dance videos : shot your own dance videos.
Artist: create videos of own art works
Singer: speak lyrics and make own music for video.
Teacher: teach in own unique style, dont start your YouTube journey by copying and uploading Khan sir videos 😃
Vlogger: Make own vlog, whatever language and accent which u feel comfortable. Add creativity to it.
Others: Make good PPT presentation or graphics. Editing should be more better than beginner level.
10. Last one is Don't see others channel as jealous point of view.
What i mean to say is always learn ideas, creativity, way of presentation from others video, not look and feel jealous that he or she is getting good views and popularity and my channel feels lacking.
There is no point like Channel dead ho gya, if 20-30 consecutive videos don't get views. Ao don't make new channel. Do your best, any video can anytime get boomed.

Main reason behind writing this article was my anger on someone aged 23 years studying in medical college repeatedly forcing guys in whatsapp group to subscribe his YouTube channel. If he does same 5-6years ago, that it was okay, but now, there is no point of doing it. It also hampers the growth of his channel because al auch forceful subscribers are non returning viewers, which in long term will kill the efficiency of channel. Like channel pe 1k subscribe ho gy but uss 1k me se 900 log to aapki video dekhne aa hi nhi rhe wapis😬
